At the top of the image is the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) which are dwarf satellite galaxies of our own Milky Way. The LMC is home to the very large star forming region of the Tarantula Nebula (brighter greenish patch). The bright spot just to the right of the SMC is the second largest globular cluster in the night sky 47 Tucanae which contains millions of stars. In the lower section of the image to the left of the hut are Alpha and Beta Centauri, the closest star system to our own Sun.
